Roof Truss Preassembly

With metal plate connected wood trusses and cold formed steel trusses require some slight modifications at the lifting points.  This modifications depends on how many trusses are being lifted at one time and how many connection locations are utilized.  We typically would up size a few connector plates while reviewing truss configurations.  Nylon straps can crush the cold form metal truss chords.

We would also plan out the pack sizes  and then review where ( what joints) we were lifting the trusses from so the engineer could up size the appropriate plates if necessary.

The “J Hook” tool that we designed lifts without crushing or applying forces in a directrion that would stress the truss pack or truss incorrectly

When setting trusses you must take into account  the possiblilty of a truss falling over during the setting process -  this is eliminated with the pre-assembly system.

The possibility of a truss installer who is up in the trusses and steps on a chord that might break and then have the truss collapse is eliminated due to the force distribution of  to the whole pack of trusses

You need a big parking lot to pre-assembly the entire roof on the ground while the top floor walls are being constructed.  We have found that we could stagger-stack the trusses to reduce the area we needed.

Overhead utility lines must be considered.
